Hello! We have been working in our game for almost two months, and now we have more art and a clear visual style, so I figured: it's time to start putting our face out there! (Or out here?)
As a starting point, the main character is probably a good choice, right? They are a gourmand rabbit who was out in a picnic devouring vegetables. Hopefully that comes across in their sprite, as well as the fear and violence that come from, well, the vegetables gaining conscience.
As for some technical stuff, after some research I decided to start this process in the Godot game engine. (I wonder why they chose the name Godot?? It's not very promising if you think of Beckett's play. Anyways.) Godot uses their own programming language, GDscript, which I wasn't familiar with but it's actually super easy if you know any of the more common languages. Godot has been nothing but amazing so far, I would really recommend it!
I want to show you the game mechanics and the various weapons and items we already have, but I should save some for next post ;) We have some incredible vegetable designs by Gui, too. I want to record a video of me playing to share here, please come back later if you're interested!
